The necessity… and the plan for the day…
-          What/who has brought you here?
-          Have you come of your own accord or not?
-          Have you enquired of the program?
-          What do you expect of it?

o    Excellence…
-          You want to be one among the herd or different?
-          Difference through excellence or cheap popularity or even notoriety?
-          Is it not to become smarter, successful… [Being and becoming…
Having and being….]
-          Don’t we expect others to respect us…
-          We want to stand tall, and on our own legs, to be independent…
[Living must be with good repute, all the rest need not be even a living…]
[what help can a son do to his father than to make other wonder ‘what sacrifice has this father done to give birth to such a son1”
[a mother would be more satisfied than while giving birth to him, when she hears of the greatness of her son…’]
-          For this we need to be more than what we are today…
-          Of this ‘more’, each one will have his/her own dreams/plans (dreaming in the wake mode) etc… to realize it [Two kinds of dreams…. ]

-          Whatever be the dream/plan we all need certain basic skills like acquiring
The three ‘R’s…. that is being ensured by the schooling…
[Figures and letters are like the eyes…]
·         “.... முகத்திரண்டு புண்ணுடையார்...” [the eyes of those who can’t read and write are not eyes really, rather they are two sores/wounds on the face….]
10.30 a. m:
Talk II: HARD WORK
-          To realize one’s dreams…
-          No miracle, no magic is going to happen, though all of us may wish for it…
-          But HARD WORK alone can do anything….
-          Genius is 99% perspiration and only 1% inspiration…”
-          “Do your best and God will do the rest…”
-          “Well begun is half done…”
[Even gods may fail… but efforts won’t go unfruitful….]

·         Class X is so basic for anything else to be built upon….
·         This is so fundamental that you can’t possibly avoid without endangering your future…
·         Master language…

·         Teachers may be doing wonderfully well,
12.15 p. m: CONCENTRATION – Self motivation:
** Automation…. Auto suggestion….
Motivation could be external influences also other than internal, which is adviceable
External either be positive (reward) or negative (punishment)…
** To achieve or win anything (medal/prize or so) one needs to practice/ work hard, so also study well to succeed.
·         But if you don’t listen to it (CONCENTRATION) and assimilate it, no use, like pouring water on a pot kept upside down, or a leaking pot… [Lens at sunlight burns paper kept below…]
·         This depends upon your interest, which none can substitute…
·         “Self-help is the best help…”
·         Understand rather than memorize, if not for that specific purpose…
·         There may be many tips to memorize….
-          Better not to jump to the other lesson before grasping the one already finished…
-          They are all built upon the other… interdependent
-          Ask the teacher or a knowledgeable student to explain matters to you
-          Other than memorizing, dates and places and persons write things in your own words, as you understand them…
·         Be confident and relaxed
·         Confidence makes one relaxed…
·         Eat well, sleep well and play/work well
·         Worries don’t help anyone, but only spoil
·         Don’t deprive sleep which will do more harm than good…
