Puthiyathura – 28.09.14

[Ez 18: 25-28; Phil 2: 1-11; Mt 21: 28-32]

Ez 18: 25-28: ‘നീതിമാന്‍... തിന്മ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചാല്‍ മരിക്കും... ദുഷ്ടന്‍... നീതിയും ന്യായവും പാലിച്ചാല്‍...ജീവന്‍ രക്ഷിക്കും...’

Phil 2: 1-11: തന്നെത്തന്നെ ശൂന്യനാക്കിയ ക്രിസ്തു...

Mt 21: 28-32: രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഉപമ...

യേശു ജെറുസലേമിലാണ്... അവിടുത്തെ സുവിശേഷത്തെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ശത്രുത വര്‍ദ്ധിക്കയാണ്...

ഇന്നത്തെ ഉപമ ലളിതവും ഒപ്പം വെല്ലുവിളിയുടെതുമാണ്...

താരതമ്യം ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് മുന്‍പേ ശ്രോദാക്കളുടെ അഭിപ്രായം ആരായുകയാണ്..., അവരാണല്ലോ തീരുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതും...

ഉപമ ഹ്രസ്വം എങ്കിലും തീവ്രമാണ്... യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിക്കേണ്ടത് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിയിലൂടെയാണ്, ജീവിതത്തിലൂടെയും... അല്ലാതെ വാചക കസര്‍ത്തിലൂടെയല്ല... പ്രസംഗമല്ല പ്രവര്‍ത്തിയാണ് വേണ്ടത്...

യേശുവിന്‍റെ ചോദ്യത്തിന് ഒറ്റ ഉത്തരമേയുള്ളൂ... ആ ഉത്തരം ഒരു വെല്ലുവിളിയായി തിരിയുകയും ചെയ്യും – നാം ആരെ പ്രതിനിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു?

·         ‘കര്‍ത്താവേ, കര്‍ത്താവേ എന്ന്, എന്നോട് വിളിച്ചപെക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനല്ല, എന്‍റെ സ്വര്‍ഗസ്ഥനായ പിതാവിന്‍റെ ഇഷ്ടം നിറവേറ്റുന്നവനാണ്...’ (Mt 7: 21).

നിയമം പാലിച്ചതായി നടിച്ചാല്‍ പോരാ, അത് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കണം, ജീവിക്കണം... അതാണ്‌ ദൈവീക നീതി...

എസക്കിയേലും ഇതുതന്നെയല്ലേ പറയുന്നത്...

ദൈവേഷ്ടം നിറവേറ്റുന്നതിന് മാതൃകയാണ് യേശു... സ്വയം ശൂന്യനാവുക... എല്ലാ അവകാശങ്ങളും ബഹുമതികളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുക... അത് ഉപരിപ്ലവമായിട്ടാവരുത്... ആദ്മാവിന്റെ, ഹൃദയത്തിന്‍റെ ആഴങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുമായിരിക്കണം... (ഫിലിപ്പിയര്‍)

തിന്‍മ/ ദുഷ്ടത എന്താണ്?

-   വിശപ്പ്‌, ദാരിദ്ര്യം, വൈധവ്യം, അനാദത്വം, രോഗം, വാര്‍ദ്ധക്യം, പ്രവാസം, അടിമത്വം, യുദ്ധം, ചൂഷണം,

നീതി എന്താണ്?

-   മേല്‍ സൂചിപ്പിച്ച ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാത്ത അവസ്ഥ... ശൂന്യവല്‍ക്കരണത്തിന്‍റെ അവസ്ഥ... ഒന്നും അവകാശപ്പെടാത്ത അവസ്ഥ...

വിശ്വാസ വഞ്ചന... ഭൌദീക ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ എന്നപോലെ ആവശ്യമുള്ളതാണ് വിശ്വാസം... നാം ഏവരും അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നതും, ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുമാണ്...

അര്‍ഹതപ്പെടാത്തതുപോലും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് അര്‍ഹതപ്പെട്ടതു പോലും ത്യജിക്കുന്ന യേശു ഭാവം, സമാനത മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കാത്ത ഭാവം... 

1) "Tell that woman that I want her here in the White House." Professor John Kenneth Galbraith, the world famous Harvard economist and author of four dozen books and over a thousand articles, also served as economic advisor to four American presidents. In his autobiography, A Life in Our Times, Galbraith illustrates the devotion of Emily Gloria Wilson, his family's housekeeper: “It had been a wearying day, and I asked Emily to hold all telephone calls while I had a nap. Shortly thereafter the phone rang. President Lyndon Johnson was calling from the White House. "Get me Ken Galbraith. This is Lyndon Johnson." "He is sleeping, Mr. President. He has instructed me not to disturb him." "Well, wake him up. I want to talk to him." "No, Mr. President. I work for him, not you.” When I called the President back, he could scarcely control his pleasure. "Tell that woman that I want her here in the White House."  Today’s Gospel reminds us that perfect and graceful obedience to God is more rewarding than reluctant obedience.

2) One night an Admiral on a US Navy Battleship ordered a certain course. The navigation officer, seeing a light in the distance, reported that the battleship now seemed to be on a collision course with another ship. So the Admiral ordered his radio officer to send a message to the on-coming ship that it should change its course 10 degrees to the south. The reply came simply, "No. You change YOUR course 10 degrees to the south." After two more unsuccessful exchanges, the Admiral, now quite furious, came thundering into the radio control room, grabbed the microphone, and bellowed into it, "Do you know that you are talking to an ADMIRAL in the UNITED STATES NAVY!" After a brief moment of silence, the even-tempered reply came back, "Sir, do you know that you are talking to the lighthouse?" So when God's Word asks you to do something and you wonder why, remember whom you are talking to! Obey His orders and avoid disaster in this life and the next.
